The two at the bottom of this post are by far the most interesting.
The sun was just at the right angle to shine through the beams on the

Hey all,

Apologies for the current August hiatus on the photos! Even though I was on vacation, production on the Ipswich Ale Brewery project is going strong. Now that the the roof is almost complete, and the walls are in place, the brewery looks bigger than ever!

Thanks again to all those who voted us best brewery of the North Shore! We cannot wait to open our doors to the public, and we hope that the enthusiasm for the new building continues to grow!

Keep posted, as more pictures of the brewery will be posted shortly.

Now that the brewhouse is in place, the building has begun to get framed!

The brewhouse was far too large to put in an existing building, so it needed to be in place before any construction could begin.

The final photos were taken the day the brew house was delivered. It now rests on the completed concrete slab.

This 60bbl brewhouse was purchased from the Flying Dog Brewery in Colorado and will be rolling into Ipswich on three seperate freight trucks Monday June 8th! Below are the mashtun & kettle, and a view of the interior of the mashtun.

American Craft Beer Week (ACBW): May 11th thru 17th:
American Craft Beer Week is upon us again! This annual event celebrates the culture, traditions, and involvement of craft breweries around the country.
To be considered a "craft" brewery, one must be independently owned and produce less than 2 million barrels of beer per year.
So support your local craft brewery next week!
We can't wait until our brewpub is up and running so that we can hold our own special events to highlight our craft brew during the ACBW. In the meantime, check out local restaurants and bars that will be featuring fine craft brews all week long. Or just enjoy a pint of fresh Ipswich Ale with friends and family!

Ipswich Ale Brewery Fun Facts

The new structure will stand at 36,000 square feet, three times the size of our current space.

We are starting off on the right foot-literally! During construction, a large horseshoe was found in the exact spot that will be home to our new brewhouse. Talk about good luck…!

Geothermal energy will be used to cool the building.

We are working very hard to carefully restore the original brick structure, which was built in 1880.

A storm water management system will be installed to help more efficiently absorb runoff.

Rumor has it gold bars were buried underneath the building long ago. We haven’t found any yet…

We Closed!!

It is official! We closed on the new brewery property. The last of the papers
were passed on the Soffron Building last Thursday January 15th,
and demolition has begun.
